WGS Stapleton

WGS Stapleton is our capture of the Fender Chris Stapleton Princeton.  We love this amp for it's sweet midrange, early breakup, and small room friendly volume.  Nothing else quite sounds like a brownface Princeton, and this version with multiple speaker choices should sit nicely with whichever guitar you prefer most.  The vintage personality is addictive to play.

We captured the amp in its sweet spot, where the amp really starts to open up but isn’t too overdriven. You get two capture sets, one through the stock speaker and one through a Creamback. Each set uses the same microphones as our other packs: the Shure 545, a ribbon, the KSM32, and the PR30.

Everything was captured with our usual process in a controlled studio environment. We tested several speakers and microphones before selecting what we believe captured the amp at its best.

There is no post processing on these captures at all. They sound as close to a mic’ed up amp as you can get. Warm, punchy, and full of character, with the refinement you expect from WGS.
