WGS Morgan SW22

Wanted to share something a little more personal. The Morgan SW22 is the amp I play at home, and now it’s part of our curated collection.

We captured the amp in its sweet spot, where the amp really starts to open up but isn’t too overdriven. The main set was captured through a Matchless cab loaded with Matchless speakers, using the same microphones as our other packs: the Shure 545, a ribbon, the KSM32, and the PR30.

We also included a bonus capture with a cleaner sound through an Eminence Alessandro speaker. It’s a great option when you want more headroom and sparkle.

Everything was captured with our usual process in a controlled studio environment. We tested several speakers and microphones before selecting what we believe captured the amp at its best.

There is no post processing on these captures at all. They sound as close to a mic’ed up amp as you can get. This one is all about refinement, the same tone I reach for every time I pick up a guitar at home.
